Social Media In The Workplace

I’ve recently been engaged on the redesign of an Intranet for a non-profit healthcare organization. One of the stakeholders asked how could social media work for their staff. Intranets were started to help with internal collaboration, communication, and knowledge sharing. They also facilitate the dissemination of company policy, guidelines and business values. Many organizations have adopted Intranets to improve internal communication, business processes and sharing of company knowledge. A Twitter feed could be a great addition to keeping your Intranet up to date. If you’re a CEO or department manager, you could use Twitter to broadcast to your team your thoughts, ideas, company news and events. This could be a great way to keep your team on the same page with what is going on in your place of work.
