Web Design

Design is a very important aspect to the interface and user experience. Design extends words, thoughts and actions into visual prompts that engages with our motivations, senses and feelings.  Design does so much to communicate what a user can do, what they can touch, see or hear. It also communicates a sense of self and purpose for the user and the business being seen.

When I’ve been challenged with an web design project I look at from two perspectives:

  1. Your brand: How do you see your business? How would you characterize your organization or its purpose? What is your voice? How should the web design portray your organization?
  2. Your user: How do they see your organization? How would they describe who you are and what you do? How should the web design be seen by your customer?

It is important in web design to marry these two thoughts so that what needs to be communicated is clear, purposeful, relevant and engaging.

Here’s what I can do for you:

Creative Exploration

If your project is new web site, marketing campaign, online application or a redesign of an existing site I offer the following services.

  • Stakeholder Sessions: Meet with your internal leaders to define what your brand must communicate.
  • Competitive Audits: I evaluate how your competition is communicating their brands and offerings to your customers.
  • Web Site Audits: I look at your current web sites, online marketing and applications to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Conceptualization: These are preliminary design exercises to narrow down the potential options. These are done irrespective of what they interface requirements are. They are to explore what is the creative potential for the site.
  • Creative Brief: This is a document that describes the essence of the brand so that it is consistent across any channel or medium, internal or external.
  • Creative Mockups: There are detailed graphical page layouts of your web site, emails or web interfaces.
