I’ve have recently installed the Firefox Accessibility Extension (version 1.5) by Jon Gunderson of the Illinois Center for Information Accessibility. It’s a fantastic tool that allows you to test the against the FAE and beta W3C accessibility rules. It’s a simple to use toolbar that enables reporting on navigation, text-based and embedded content, scripting and more. Should be a must have if you’re developing web sites but also if you manage your own web site and need to make it more accessible. Check it out on Mozilla.org.

I’ve recently been engaged on the redesign of an Intranet for a non-profit healthcare organization. One of the stakeholders asked how could social media work for their staff. Intranets were started to help with internal collaboration, communication, and knowledge sharing. They also facilitate the dissemination of company policy, guidelines and business values.
